February 29

During today, I had a meeting with my corporate video team. We were told to have more communication with each other so this is something we have to remember and to believe in myself because working for a company is nerve racking.

For drama, my team and I went through auditions for the second character. Unfortunately none of the the hand group came, so we asked if another one of the members wif they were interested. He had an auditioned for the role And he's interested so we hired him. We also took photos at our location we chose for a photo storyboard which went very well. Next week, we should start shooting. Yippee!

For digital image production, we went through design principles which helps for my report so I can add that in.

So overall, went pretty well

21st February

Today, I went to Argos headquaters to film the workers doing a Strictly Come Dancing routine for a charity event. This is for my Coperate Video project. I worked with a team of three.

The day came out as a success and I feel we've got some good shots and the routines the workers did were amusing.

The only thing I thought was different was the workers came out with different ideas from ours and we didn't have to run by our shot list and we finished earlier than I expected. Other than that, it went very well.

Here are some inclosed images of filming the routines:

20th February

Today I have finished my Drama report, I'll show it to Dave and see what he thinks of it. I've also created my teams pitch of our film on Powerpoint. I'll it show to my group and see what they think before showing to the class.

For Digital Media, I feel I need help on one of the slides but we're going through lectures with James for that and I feel I've got time on it.

Yesterday, for Freelancing (my favourite module!!) I have written out risk assessments in a studio, near water, a public place and near traffic. I think it came out very well but lets see what Bill thinks of it shall we?

Tomorrow, for Corporate Video, my team and I are heading to Acton Gate to Argos to film their dance routines for their charity night, so I've printed out the shot list to use and I'm going collect some old tapes to use for filming. This I feel slightly nervous about it because I've never filmed for a company before but it should go well through out the day :)

First of all and the15th February

First of all, I have written my drama script and sent it off to my college who's helping through out the production. She said she really liked it but a few amendments are needed, so she changing some of the script.

Today for Digital Media, I have created another film logo for my DVD cover because I used one I made up called JDA Films.

To start off, I sketched the font design and scanned it into Photoshop. I then coloured it in a dark red and tidied it up after. I then added another layer and downloaded an image of fire from the net and put it into Photoshop. This took time because I had to create a new layer all together. After that, I downloaded an image of the devil and put on to my image. I really liked how it came out because I think image go well together and it could go well for the next horror film I could make.

After that was completed, I opened up my DVD cover and transferred the logo to there. I then decreased the size so it could match with my other logo. I really like how this came out because it now shows the two companies I used. Here is an image of the logo and the DVD cover with the logo on it.

See what you think :)

My DVD cover

Recently for Digital Image Production, I have been producing a DVD cover of my choice.

Before then I researched three DVD cases and leaned and took note of what was on them and what colours and fonts they used. I then sketched an idea of what I wanted to make.

I then made my cover by adding images from the film and wrote the text myself. I added the 12 certificate by downloading it from the internet. I used the 12 certificate label that's used at the back of boxes by downloading an existing DVD cover. I wiped of part of the text and moved a particular word to the centre and coloured in the part that was missing.

After it was finished, I had good comments about it and reckoned I should increase the size of the main title. I did this twice and the final comments came out successfully.

Here's enclosed image of the cover. What do you think? :)

8th February

Recently I've been learning about Freelancing, Digital Image Production, Corperate Video and Drama Production.

For Freelancing, I've learned about VAT and how it works, budgeting and how it works and media ethics. I'm sure this will help for the future but it's my least favourite module to be honest.

For Digital Image, I've been going through how Photoshop works. I've been going through manipulating images etc. We've just recently went through Colour and Pixel theory. I have to keep practising Photoshop so I can get the hang of it.

Corperate video, I've researched on exisiting videos and what's in them that makes it a corperate video. I've been asked to do a corperate video for Argos with filming short fun videos for a charity night. Tomorrow, I should be going to the headquaters to film the workers doing a Strictly Come Dancing event.

For Drama Production, I've learned about what's in the Drama genre and how it's effective with hard hitting subjects etc. I've been asked to make a short drama film and choose a tough subject to film. I've just started writing a script about a self centred man, meeting a homeless person. The homeless explains to the man about why and what's like to be homeless. I should be filming after half term. Hopefully it should go well. :)
